Embracing the Moses Journey: Redesigning Our Lives for Divine Purpose

Hey friend, welcome to Milk and Honey with Lemon! Today, I want to share something that’s been weighing heavily on my heart. We often talk about stepping into the overflow that God has for us, just like the land flowing with milk and honey. As I pondered Moses’ story from the book of Exodus, I felt compelled to explore how his journey can teach us to embrace both the highs and lows of our lives to fulfill our divine purpose.

Moses: A Tale of Leadership and Obedience

Welcome back to the Milk and Honey podcast! I’m your host, Lemon Price, and can you believe we’re already in Season Four? It’s truly insane! This season, I want to dive straight into what’s been heavy on my heart: Moses and his journey in the book of Exodus.

At the beginning of Exodus, we learn how the Israelites ended up in Egypt through Joseph’s story. Fast forward, a new Pharaoh comes into power, one who knows nothing of Joseph’s contributions. Fearing the growing Israelite population, he enslaves them and decrees the death of every Hebrew boy. It’s here we meet two extraordinary women, Shiprah and Puah, who defy Pharaoh’s orders because they fear God more than man, saving countless lives in the process.

Defying Odds and Enacting Change

Moses’ story is marked by powerful acts of civil disobedience by these women, showing us how significant defying corrupt authority can be for enacting change. Moses himself is saved and raised as an Egyptian prince. He has everything, yet when he sees the oppression of his people, he takes drastic action, leading to his exile.

In Midian, Moses becomes a humble shepherd, a significant step down from his life as an Egyptian prince. It is in this lowly place that he has his divine encounter with God through the burning bush. This shift from the highest high to the lowest low positions him uniquely to understand both worlds and fulfill God’s purpose.

Discover how Moses' story inspires us to redesign our lives for divine purpose! In this blog post, we'll explore leadership, personal growth, and the importance of intentional downtime. The Importance of Quiet Time

Reflecting on Moses’ story, I found parallels in my own life. Sometimes, when we’re at the top of our game career-wise, we can feel burnt out and disconnected from God. I realized that to hear from God and understand His purpose for us, we need intentional downtime.

So, in a bid to balance my life, I redesigned my schedule. I intentionally made space for rest, prayer, and personal reflection. This meant reducing my work hours, even during the peak of my career, to four hours a day from Monday to Thursday, giving me a three-day weekend to recharge and reconnect with God.

Stripping Away for Divine Purpose

Moses teaches us that even in our peak moments, we need to strip things away to hear from God clearly. We must create space for Him to guide us, devoid of distractions and busywork. Just as God prepared Moses in solitude to lead the Israelites, we too must find our ‘Mount Sinai’ moments in the quiet.

Practical Steps to Redesign Your Schedule

I encourage you to redesign your schedule to create pockets of intentional quiet time:

  1. Assess Your Priorities: Identify what genuinely needs your attention and what doesn’t.
  2. Consult for Guidance: Use tools like ChatGPT to map out your ideal weekly routine.
  3. Create Downtime: Bake in time for rest, prayer, and activities that rejuvenate you.
  4. Embrace Simplicity: Focus on impactful tasks, shedding unnecessary work.

Final Thoughts

God often gives us our divine mission piece by piece. Like Moses, we must be patient, taking one step at a time and trusting His guidance. Embrace those moments of quiet and trust in His plan, even when it seems fragmented.

Let’s make a commitment to intentionally redesign our lives to hear from God more fully and to live out our divine purpose. Join me in this journey of quiet reflection and purposeful action, and see the impact it will bring to your life.

Thanks for tuning in, friend. I’ll see you next Monday for another inspiring episode as we continue to explore the depths of leadership and our heavenly calling. Keep seeking, keep growing, and keep trusting in His plan.

God bless you, and I’ll catch you on the flip side!

Sharing this with a friend who might need encouragement today could be the spark they need to step into their calling. And if you can spare a moment, leaving a review would mean the world to me and help our community grow.

Until next time,
