How to Get Your Life Together in 10 Minutes a Day

If you’re currently looking around your house like, “How did we get here? What happened? Who lives like this??” — same. Literally same.Let me just say this upfront: You do NOT need a rebrand, a new planner, a fresh personality, or to wake up at 4 AM to get your life together. If you can give me 10 minutes, we can turn this around.

You need ten minutes.
TEN.
That’s it.

Pinterest girlies are out here doing sunrise pantry reorganizations and 90-step glow-up routines. No ma’am. I am not that girl. I am barely keeping myself upright some days, okay?

And guess what?
You can do a full life-reset in the time it takes to make your coffee.

Let’s do this before you talk yourself out of it.

Why 10 Minutes Actually Works (and why anything longer is rude)

Ten minutes is friendly. Ten minutes doesn’t judge you. Ten minutes doesn’t act like you’re supposed to be Martha Stewart with a color-coded pantry and emotional stability.

Ten minutes is:
“Okay, I can do that before the dog starts throwing up again.”
or
“Sure, I have ten minutes before somebody asks me what’s for dinner at 7 AM.”

And the best part?
Your brain doesn’t go into panic mode.
There’s no “we have to overhaul our entire life in one afternoon” nonsense.

It’s literally the entire point of my Soft Life Ritual Cards — tiny rituals that feel like, “Okay… I might actually survive this week.”

And if you want a few free cards to try before you commit? They’re literally waiting for you to just type your email in.

Here’s the 10-Minute ‘Get It Together’ Routine

This is the routine I do when life feels like the Target dollar spot — everything everywhere, nothing where it belongs, and me questioning every decision I’ve made since 2012.

You can do this routine at any time of day.
Morning, noon, night, mid-crisis… doesn’t matter.

Let’s go.

1. Breathe Like You Mean It (1 minute)

Hand on chest. Inhale. Exhale.

Yes, I know this sounds obvious, but friend, half of us are breathing like Victorian children with weak constitutions.

One deep breath and suddenly you’re like, “Okay, I can handle my life again.”

Pinterest calls this a “grounding reset.” I call it “I refuse to lose my mind today.”

2. Clear ONE Surface (2 minutes)

Not the house.
Not the kitchen.
Not the 14 baskets of laundry judgmentally staring at you (I know mine are).

ONE. SURFACE.

Pick the disaster that is personally attacking you the most:

  • the counter
  • the nightstand
  • the entry table
  • the desk

Set a timer for two minutes and move like you’re speed-running for your life.

Friend, the energy shift??? Immediate.
It’s the cheapest therapy you’ll ever get.

The girlies LOVE this because it gives that before/after visual everyone’s obsessed with. Even if you don’t take a picture, your brain will.

You don’t need a whole new life. Just a 10 minute routine. Use this cozy routine with free Ritual Cards from the Reset Guide and feel calm again — without the hustle.

3. Write Down 1–3 Things (3 minutes)

This is your micro-plan.
Not a “new version of me” plan.
Not a 47-step roadmap.
Just the basics.

Ask yourself: “What are the top 1–3 things that would make today feel handled?”

Handled — not perfect.
Not glamorous.
Not Pinterest-worthy.
Just handled.

Write it down.
Circle the most important one.
Boom. You now have a plan that won’t ruin your life.

4. Do One Nourishing Thing (2 minutes)

This is your soft life moment. The whole vibe is: “I’m overwhelmed, but I’m still cute.”

Pick something that tells your nervous system, “We’re okay.”

Ideas:

  • Light a candle like you’re in a Nancy Meyers movie
  • Drink water before your kidneys file a complaint (been there, done that, got the hospital bill)
  • Put on lip balm because self-care is hydration AND gloss
  • Stretch for 30 seconds
  • Put on a calming playlist
  • Mist your sheets like you have your life together

Seriously, these tiny rituals change everything. It’s exactly why I created the Soft Life Ritual Cards — each one is a micro-reset that takes less time than finding your car keys. You can also do these if you have a 10 minute window of time.

5. Put One Space Back to Neutral (2 minutes)

Not “clean.”
Not “deep tidy.”
Not “rip everything out and start fresh” like we all do at the worst possible moments.

Just neutral.

Push the chairs in.
Fold the blanket.
Put the dish in the sink.
Close the laptop.
Straighten the pillows.

That’s it.
Two minutes.
Your space stops screaming at you.

Why This Actually Works for Real-Life Women

Because most women do not have three hours to “reset their vibe.” We are constantly pivoting, adjusting, carrying mental load, and responding to chaos like Navy SEALs with iced coffee. As much as I love Shelby’s 4-hour morning routine, it just is not in the cards for me right now.

A 10 minute resets give you:

  • momentum
  • clarity
  • breathing room
  • a sense of control again
  • a softer start or finish to the day
  • the ability to catch up without spiraling

It’s the gentlest, most doable way to feel like, “Okay… my life isn’t falling apart. It’s just… lived in.”

Pinterest is ALL over this trend — soft life routines, daily resets, quick tidy habits, micro-productivity — it’s everywhere. People want simple. They want doable. They want to feel calm without working for it like it’s a part-time job.

This 10-minute routine feeds right into that.

Friend, listen.
Your life doesn’t need a full renovation.
It just needs a rhythm.

Ten minutes a day is enough.
And you?
You’re doing better than you think.
