The Sunday Reset – How to Start Your Week with Intention & Peace

Hey friend,

Ever feel like Mondays hit too fast and too hard? Like you blink, and suddenly the weekend is over, your to-do list is overflowing, and you’re already behind before the week even starts?

Same.

That’s why I started doing a Sunday Reset—a simple, peaceful way to prepare for the week ahead without the stress.

If you’re tired of starting Monday overwhelmed and unprepared, let’s change that. Here’s how to create a Sunday Reset routine that feels restful, intentional, and life-giving.

1. Slow Down & Set the Tone for the Week

Sunday isn’t meant to be a day of stress and rushing. It’s a day for rest and reflection. The Bible says it’s a day of rest so let’s not use it to run every single errand under the planet.

Try this:
Start your day without immediately grabbing your phone
✔ Make your morning coffee or tea slow and peaceful
✔ Play soft worship music or a podcast to set a calm, faith-filled atmosphere
✔ Attend a Sunday service either online or in person

📖 Exodus 20:8 – “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

2. Reflect & Reset Your Mindset

Before you start planning the week ahead, take a moment to pause. Let’s reflect on the previous week and decide what we want to keep moving forward and what we want to adjust. Give yourself grace in this process. It’s an ever-changing journey and it is okay to stop and adjust.

Ask yourself:
✔ What went well last week?
✔ What stressed me out or felt overwhelming?
✔ What do I want to change this week to feel more aligned and at peace?

Pro Tip: Journaling or praying through these questions helps bring clarity & focus.

3. Organize Your Space & Clear Visual Clutter

A cluttered home = a cluttered mind. Spend 30 minutes doing a quick reset of your space so you start the week feeling fresh.

Sunday Reset To-Do’s:
Do a 10-minute tidy (clear counters, put things in their place)
Wash & change your bedsheets—fresh sheets = fresh start
Prep your space for Monday (set up your desk, clean your kitchen)

4. Plan for a Stress-Free Week Ahead

A Sunday Reset isn’t just about cleaning—it’s about setting yourself up for a peaceful, intentional week.

Things to Plan on Sunday:
Write your top 3 priorities for the week
Look at your schedule and plan for important meetings or appointments
Pre-plan your meals (even just writing down a rough meal plan helps!)

Pro Tip: Planning ahead reduces decision fatigue and makes the week run smoother. I also like to do my hardest tasks in the middle of the week.

Monday is always my meeting heavy days. I fill my calendar Monday with calls so that Tuesday through Thursday I can get tangible work done. Friday, the only call I make is a Financial Freedom call or I hit the beach. I am a firm believer in the 4-day work week.

5. Prioritize Rest & Faith Over Hustle

Sunday is a day of rest and renewal—not just another day to catch up on work.

Ways to Fill Your Sunday with Peace:
✔ Spend intentional time in prayer & worship
✔ Take a slow afternoon walk to clear your mind
✔ Read a faith-based book or devotional
✔ Do something that fills your soul—baking, journaling, or just sitting outside

Don’t work. I cannot stress this enough. No work today unless it’s life-altering. I don’t mean a client needs to swap some colors on a graphic, I mean you’re an ER Doc and you’re on call.

📖 Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Final Thoughts: Your Week Starts with Sunday

Instead of letting Monday hit like a freight train, give yourself the gift of a slow, intentional Sunday Reset.
